I think it sounds very nice. It will be very matchy matchy though. I would perhaps throw in one more color, such as a different colored napkin, or incorporate one more color into the flowers or something so everything won't be overpowered with purple. Adding another color will bring out the color of the purple theme, with out being overpowering. Perhaps a silver napkin would be nice.
Adding an extra color shouldn't increase costs either, just substitute a purple thing with the other colored things.

Anytime anybody sets up a budget two things happen. First there are things they forget to include in their budget and second they very rarely stick to it. I'll wager that your $550 cushion comes in closer to $250. But I guess you'll see once you start (and forget about the first two months, those will come in just fine). It sounds like your husband wants you to continue to work. Did you guys discuss this before you decided to have a child? If so, what was decided? If you didn't I suggest you communicate more openly on such important important topics. Money issues are the #1 reason behind marital difficulties. This is a discussion which should have been made before you were pregnant not after you had the baby. Good luck in resolving this.
